Our Story:

December 2023

The Beginning:

Founded by Thiago Dias, a native of Minas Gerais, Brazil, Why So Coffee celebrates culture, flavor, and curiosity. Thiago’s upbringing instilled a deep love for coffee, while his travels inspired a passion for global coffee traditions. The name "Why So Coffee" comes from a memorable moment in December 2023. While spending Christmas in Wales with friends, Thiago—an avid coffee enthusiast—prepared coffee for the group. During a car ride, they discussed language quirks, including the Minas Gerais slang "Uai Sô," inspiring the playful, curiosity-driven name. Encouraged by his friends, Thiago launched Why So Coffee in January 2024.

March 2025

A New Chapter Begins (2025):

In March 2025, Thiago returned to Brazil to forge partnerships with fellow coffee visionaries. He joined forces with André Chavari, owner of Café Convicto, whose expertise spans every facet of coffee production. He also reunited with his longtime friend Logan Ramos—a friendship dating back to 2000. Logan, an agronomist (graduated in 2017), has been working with agricultural supplies since 2014, specializing in coffee farm management. Today, he serves coffee growers across Southern Minas Gerais, building trusted relationships with producers
